Wait, what? The Universe always answers yes? That can't be true...
Ah, but it is. We live in an affirmative Universe, full of love, abundance and creativity. And this Universe always answers our requests with a resounding Yes! If we're not experiencing this "yes" in a way that we desire, it's only because we're not fully aware of what we're asking for.
For example, if I'm hoping to make new friends in Gainesville and I focus my thoughts on how good it feels to make new friends, the Universe's response will be yes to my request for new friends. However, if I want to make new friends and I focus my thoughts on how I don't have friends or how I'm longing for new friends or how I miss all my good friends back in RI, then the Universe will also respond Yes! and I will continue to be without friends. As Patricia Crane, PhD puts it: "The more you focus on what you don’t want, the more strongly you are actually holding the challenge in your life."
It's a bit tricky at first especially since, in our culture, we tend to focus on problems rather than solutions. So focusing on the problem brings about more of the problem. But focusing on the solution -- or desired outcome -- will bring about the desired outcome. It's the old saying "be the change you want to see." If I want more friends then it serves me to be a good friend. As I focus on friendship mode, the Universe responds with a big ole Yes! and more friends automatically show up in my experience.
And it's the same for all other topics: want better health, focus on what's healthy about your body now and see how the Universe responds Yes! Want more money, focus on the abundance that's already in your life now and anticipate the Universe's ever-increasing Yes!
But don't believe me, try it with something simple in your life and wait with expectation and faith for the results. This Universe is for us, not against us, and as we become more aware of our thoughts and focus them on what we truly want in life, we'll experience the love-filled, resounding YES we've been waiting for!
